Rail Cutting Stabilisation - Weldgrip R32N Self Drilling Anchors
The FA26 Rock Cuttings project involves
the stabilisation of several rail cuttings throughout the North West of
England. The anchors were installed using a TEI mast and grout flush system to achieve the 6-8 meter drilling depth. A variety of Drill Bits were tested & the R32/51mm/ESS-F
button bits proved the most productive in the Carboniferous Limestone.
Due to embankment instability heavy machines were not permitted on the
embankment crest. Drilling operations were achieved using excavator machines
operated from the carriageway. “The production of the top anchorages are critical to our operation on this type of project as they are used for both Industrial Roped Access Anchors by operatives and always form the primary stage to our meshing works.” Click here to view the Vertical Access web site.
