Lokset resin capsules are applied for bonding of steel and GRP bolts in tunnelling, underground engineering and coal mining. Minova Weldgrip Ltd supplies the bonding mortar in the form of dual component capsules.
When the grout mixture is properly inserted into the borehole, a strong load bearing bond is formed between the load-bearing tendon and the borehole walls. The approvals of the responsible mining authorities and the tests on groundwater compatibility concerning the Lokset resin capsules are available.

Lokset Resin Capsules - Application
A special retaining element prevents the Lokset resin capsule from slipping out of the borehole. The choice of capsules depends on the diameter of anchor bolt and bore hole. An annular gap of 3 mm is ideal to destroy the foil and ensure the mixing of the resin and hardener.
After drilling the borehole the Lokset resin capsules are put into the bore hole. The bolt is then inserted through the resin by pushing and spinning. There-by the capsules are destroyed and the components are mixed. After reaching the end of bore hole the anchor setting mechanism has to remain immobile while the resin starts hardening. The setting time depends on the temperature of capsule and rock as well as on the energy induction by inserting the bolt. Capsules with different setting times, lengths and diameters are available.
