A brand new 12,000 all-seater football stadium was required for Rotherham United Football Club, to be ready for the start of the 2012/2013 season.

Minova Weldgrip were proud to be awarded the task of designing and producing the permanent formwork package for the multi-million pound development.

NovoForm permanent formwork is welded steel mesh panels encapsulated in film and passed through a heat tunnel to be shrink – wrapped. The panels are then cut and bent to a range of shapes to suit the project’s requirements.

The flexibility of NovoForm and speed of installation, which can be achieved without the need of skilled labour, were key factors in GMI Construction's choice of formwork system.

With considerable years of experience in this field, the NovoForm team set about the design, scheduling and production of the NovoForm units required for the project, to be provided to site in phased deliveries.

A project’s successful completion can only be achieved with a close working relationship with the contractor, none more so than with Rotherham United’s new stadium.

The project site location proved ideal for us, as NovoForm is produced locally at Minova Weldgrip’s Barnsley factory.

As with all projects, our NovoForm team made regular visits to site to ensure that GMI’s needs were met and the programme ran to schedule.
  • Our experienced Technical Sales Team worked closely with the GMI Construction site Team to establish the exact formwork required for the project, giving GMI the most cost effective solution.
  • Using the project foundation drawings we quantified and scheduled the required amount of NovoForm and ancillary products.
  • A clear and precise quotation was provided for GMI Construction, listing all the NovoForm products required for the project.
  • Our dedicated delivery vehicles ensured NovoForm was delivered to site, on schedule, to GMI Construction’s required programme.
  • The use of NovoForm permanent formwork reduced the need for extensive excavation and minimised cart-away and landfill.
  • Regular site visits were made to ensure customer satisfaction – standard Minova Weldgrip practice..
